Captain Murphy is going to be taking after his big brother Blacksod and his sire Captain Nemo. He took a blue at the CNY Classic in Weedsport NY in a very tough class. He went on to take a 2nd at SEPA, and then a 4th at Empire Extravaganza in a remarkably tough class. and his older brother blacksod was standing in 3rd place right above him. Murphy was just one week into being a yearling so we were very happy for his placement in the field of 12. Earlier in the year Murphy captured a 5th place in Mapaca at only 6 months old in the bay black group. His older brother BlackSod from Celtic Criation captured a Blue in the oldest class of juvies in True Black. (Mapaca is a big show - and had at least 3 classes of True Black Juvies - with anywhere from 13-15 in each class) We told Murphy that in 4 months he would look just like his big brother!!!
He is just another great example of the crias that Nemo is throwing. Just wonderful. We are thrilled with the results of his progeny. And Captain Murphy is truly a chip off the old block. He has the stance and the substance that Captain Nemo has. In the beginning we thought Murphy was true black, but he has been turning bay black. if he keeps changing he is going to end up rose grey like his sire. He has a great stance (as all of Nemo's cria do) and terrific fleece. he is not for sale yet and is on alpacanation to show what Nemo is throwing. We will be placing him up for sale soon. Murphy and his brother Blacksod both took 2nd place at Sepa. They got to stand in the champion ring next to each other. pretty good - 2 Nemo boys standing in that ring!! There will be more!!
