Our Mission Statement:
Dedicated to buying and breeding quality alpacas.
Farm Description:
Our farm is nestled in the hills of south central New York. Although we are only three miles off a major interstate our beautiful log cabin sets peacefully on 18.5 country acres.
We have only been in the business for a few years, and have been fortunate to meet and be mentored by many established alpaca farm owners. They have shared their wealth of knowledge, and allowed us to “literally” get our hands dirty learning how to take care of our animals. We have learned very quickly that alpaca farming is mostly about the animals, but also the wonderful people you meet and the relationships you form.
Log Cabin Alpacas now has full ownership of Ausable Valley's Freestyle, the son of Herdsire of the Year 2010 Peruvian Lancaster. Freestyle has 3 cria due in the summer of 2011. We have also added a full Peruvian Classic Light Silver Grey herdsire, Thunder Bolt's Storm, to our herd. He will be in service as of late summer 2011.
It is an exciting time at Log Cabin Alpacas, we have purchased 1/2 ownership of our fisrt full Accoyo male. Accoyo Orinoco of Ideuma Creek has joined our herd and will reside at Log Cabin Alpacas. We are pleased to be partnered with Denise and John Jacobus. He will begin his show career at the end of April.
The 2010 Empire Extravaganza was very exciting for our little farm. Ausable Valley's Freestyle placed 1st; Log Cabin's Isabella, our True Black girl placed 4th; and Log Cabin's Dakota placed 5th. We are very excited to take 6 alpacas to the New Jersey Show at the end of April.
We designed and built our barn during the summer of 2008 and spring/summer of 2009. Many long hours and hard work have paid off. We brought our animals home in October and could not be happier. Although, Log Cabin Alpacas is a small farm it has big linage. Visitors are welcome to come visit our farm at any time.
