Snowmass Invincible and our own Princess Leah criated this absolutely handsome male -
Invincible's White Satin Knight. He was as cute as a little stuffed alpaca when he was born. and he had this really really funky topknot. So we started calling him Funky White Boy. We decided to give him a nice name - that would serve him well as a herdsire. But to us, and all of our friends, he is Funky White Boy.
His first show out - he was cantankerous and surly - but he still managed to get a 2nd. He has usually ribboned in every show he has been in. And for us - and we are proud to say we are primarily grey breeders - having a white that was winning ribbons was pretty amazing. And people started talking about how good he really was, and how we should watch and see how he was the older he got.
Well we did - and the older he got - the better he got. This past September at Sepa he took a First and then followed it with a color championship!! he took a 3rd after that down in Maryland at a very tough show. And then this March at the NJ show he took first again. And as he walked into the ring I was stunned by how he had come into himself. Truly a herdsire, deserving to be in that ring. He went on to take a Reserve Championship. Wade Geese remarked that his fleece was the fleece of a juvie.
Funky is looking forward to starting his breeding career. and we look forward to that too, but for now, he will do a few more shows.
